At Elian Studio, we make every effort to provide the most eco-friendly products we can. We wholeheartedly believe that design shouldn’t be measured only by its appearance but by its contribution to the wellbeing of consumers and our planet, too. We reduce waste, pollution, and water usage by:
We work with local companies and manufacture everything in the United States to minimize our carbon footprint.
Digital Printing -
Compare to conventional printing (screen printing); digital printing is a far more sustainable option. It uses less energy and requires less water since the fabric doesn’t need as many wash and rinse cycles, and no screens or colorant require cleaning. More than that, digital printing produces less fabric waste as every design is custom-made for our needs.
We use Oeko-Tex 100 approved eco-friendly pigments inks.
Oeko-Tex 100 (the Zürich-based International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile and Leather Ecology) certifications confirm the human ecological safety of textile production from all production stages. Oeko-Tex 100 approved inks are free from over 100 harmful chemicals and substances.
Recycled Cotton -
Recycling cotton is a process in which cotton fibers and textile leftovers are reused in textile production to create a new yarn. Using recycled cotton reduces textile waste and pollution, and reduces the use of water and dyes by reusing products that have already been processed.
Linen is made from flax. Flax is a natural product that does not require irrigation during growth and needs little or no chemical treatment. All parts of the plant are used, so there is no waste. Linen fabric is 100% biodegradable and recyclable.
We ship our products in compostable mailers and poly bags made from biodegradable materials and plants. Our packaging decomposes in just months in both home and industrial composts.
